Server 2003 IIS6.0 Frontpage 2003 All with latest Patches

I have a simple intranet with a .html page that has a hyperlink to an
Outlook Form Template File .OFT. When I click the hyperlink I get a "HTTP
Error 404 - File or directory not found." Error. I can open the file through
the file system ok. I tried moving the .oft file to the root of the web and
creating a new hyperlink but I continue to get the error.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Steve

I get the feeling you're barking up the wrong tree here, but I can't figure
out what tree you're trying to bark up. Can you fill us in on what exactly
you want this process to accomplish?

I was hoping the short version would work but here it goes.

Our company Intranet server(windows NT 4.0 IIS 4.0) Died last week. Instead
of putting the old OS back on the new server we decided to Upgrade to Server
2003 IIS 6.0(all the latest Service packs) After the server upgrade was
complete, I copied the contents of the old WWWROOT folder into the new
server. Amazingly most things worked right away. Except our page that has the
hyperlink to open the custom Outlook Form Template to enter a request for a
Vacation. The .oft file is located on the Intranet server. It worked on the
old server but not on the new one. I assume that over time there was a
setting on IIS 4.0 that got changed to make this work but I have no idea what
it might have been.

Unfortunately I know little or nothing about it all but have to fix it.

So that's where the Frontpage gurus come in!

Thanks for your help

Steve

Open the IIS mmc on the server (administration tools->IIS Manager) and
expand the tree. Right click the web site and choose properties
On the HTTP headers tag, click Mime Types and add a mime type for the
..OFT files.
IIS6 will deliver a 404 error for file types it knows nothing about.
