HI,
I am using Office 2003 now.
Whenever I try to create a hyperlink, instaed of getting something like
www.yahoo.com (with underline and specified colour), I am seeing something
like (HYPERLINK "www.yahoo.com").
To open a hyperlink I have to right-click and go to "open the link" rather
than just clicking the link(which used to be the way when I was using Office
2000)

In addition in word docs the embedded pictures are not seen in any
views(only a blank square is seen in weblayout) other than print preview!!

Press Alt+F9. You are seeing the field codes, and that keystroke
switches to the field results.

Thank you Mr Freedman,

It worked!
My hyperlink problem is solved. Thanks a lot.

If possible help me with two more things...
1) All pictures inserted in my word doc are seen as blank square only. In
print preview alone I can see the picture as it is.....
2) My word window is not showing page number in the lower tool
bar.(previously it used to come as 2/6 or 3/6 as according to the page which
was displayed).

I will be thankful if you could suggest some remedy for these too.

Thanks once more,

For item 1, go to the Tools > Options dialog and uncheck the box
labeled "Picture placeholders".

For item 2, do you mean that the status bar (that's what Word calls
the "lower tool bar") is not visible, or that it is visible but it
doesn't show the page number? If it isn't visible, open the same
dialog and check the box labeled "Status bar". If the status bar is
visible but doesn't show the page number, open the same dialog, click
on the General tab, and check the box for "Background repagination".
(That box is always checked and disabled if your document is in Print
Layout view; it is enabled and may be checked or unchecked in the
other views.)
