hyperlink greyed out

Excel XP windows XP

I have a document with many sheets and an index page. The
index page refers to the various sheets with hyperlinks. I
just added a new item in the index and I'm trying to link
to a sheet, but the hyperlink is greyed out. I tried on
every single box in the document, but I noticed all of the
cells, can't link.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any chance your worksheet is protected?

Or you have multiple worksheets selected--look for [Group] in the title bar?
