Hyperlink Default

Hello, in Access2003...

I have a search form that looks up quotes by quote number etc... one of the
fields on the quote table is a hyperlink to a pdf of the quote form.
Currently I have been linking the pdf files by right-click and find the path
to the file... is there a way to default to a specific drive when I go to
link these.... it would save me a ton of time if it would go directly to the
drive where all of my quotes are stored.

BTW I don't want to set the database default to this drive because I have
other hyperlinks set up in the system... this one is just used more than
others.

Hi Jacinda,

rather than using the Hyperlink data type, I store the path\filename as
a text data type and then use

Application.FollowHyperlink me.controlname

on a double-click event to launch it

in your code, if IsNull(me.controlname), you can assume that they want
to choose a file and then present them with a dialog box to pick one.

-- and you can specify a start directory

you can also have a command button to browse to a file in case they want
to change what is already filled in
