hybernation

I was working on my laptop and evidently was using the
battery pack and didn't know it. It showed the low
battery warning and then went into hybernation. Now, I
can't get it back up. If I try to reboot, it just shuts
right back down. Can anyone help. I'm right in the
middle of a great big project I need for my work on
Tuesday, September 7th and I can't even get the laptop to
boot up. Please help ASAP.

I think you shouldn't waste time thinking what it could be - You don't have
time. Put in the XP cd, boot from it and select a repair install- You won't
lose any programs or data, and the procedure will be done in about 50
minutes max (it will most probably fix your problem, if it's a software
one). Do a google search for how to perform a repair install of XP - There
are quite a few good sites that will give you a step by step procedure.

Sorry for the obvious question but did you attach the power adapter before
trying to boot again?

I agree with Sharon. The battery won't magically recharge itself without
help from the power cord.
