Huntbar and Altnet

Every day MS AntiSpy cleans the same two programs: Huntbar Browser Modifier
and Altnet Browser Plug-In. With my firewall and spyware and everything else
going, the only "easy" vulnerability I can think of is that I keep AIM going
whenever I'm logged on, because none of my friends have MSN Messenger. Could
this be the source? If not, how do I keep getting these two nuisances (and
the every-3-minute pop-ups they produce) and how do I get rid of them?

Hi Len;
Altnet can be eliminated with SpySweeper (14 day trial available)
www.webroot.com
Huntbar can be gotten rid of with SpyBot S&D (free program)
http://www.safer-networking.org/

Both malwares might have originated with P2P sharing programs:
Altnet generally propagates itself using dialog boxes, various social
engineering methods, or through a java scripting error. Usually adware and BHOs
are bundled with various, free software programs, like Kazaa.

From Andy Manchesta:
Consider installing SpywareBlaster from Javacool software as that will add
hundreds of malicious sites to your restricted zone which would prevent them
downloading files to your system if you visit them, Spyware Blaster will also
block alot of malicious ActiveX components so again it would prevent the site
downloading malicious files to your pc, Its free and doesn't need to run on
your system, it just needs updating every couple of weeks,
