Huge problem getting out of shared borders...

Hello -
I'm on Frontpage 2003, Win XP Pro. This may be a hard problem to describe
and solve, because this site is a business account (please don't laugh) so I
really cannot publish this problem just to make it easier to understand.
I'll do the best I can to describe this and of course, give you the link to
the site, which is www.westwindentertainment.com . I am trying to get out of
using shared borders, where all my navigation presently resides (in the left
shared border), but when I try to copy and paste the navigation into, say, a
dynamic web template page, something disappears because the rollovers don't
work anymore and there is no rollover image. For instance, when I go over a
link with the mouse, I get a red-X field instead of the rollover image. Now
just so you know, the way I copy and paste this is to put my cursor into the
table, and use the table menu to choose 'select table'. That way, I know I'm
getting the whole table and nothing is left out.
Let me explain everything I've already tried, as it hopefully will clarify
things further. Also you should know that most of the javascript is from
Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 (for one link I used Jbots for the javascript,
with the simple 1st image/2nd rollover image method). I do this because I'm
more graphics oriented and not a coder. Here's what I've tried:
1) I've made sure the javascript is copied into the <head>
2) I've gone into the Borders folder to the Left.htm page and tried
copying and pasting from there.
3) I've looked into the <body> to make sure the table of images and links
are there.
4) I've tried doing a second, different dynamic web template page.
I hope to solve this somehow - I do appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Thanks,...Frank Bright

Using cut and paste does not update the hyperlinks and links to
images.
One way of converting from Shared Borders to DWT is described at
www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/SB-DWT.htm
This example uses the border files as includes in the DWT.
You can subsequently, if desired, open the DWT in notepad and remove
the webbot code surrounding the included files, thus hard coding those
files into the DWT. If you take this step, run Tools->Recalculate
Hyperlinks afterwards, then update the attached pages.

Hi-
Many Thanks for the link and the help. As I mentioned I'm not a coder, I
doubt I'll be hard-coding from Notepad. I read the article - I'll try it
from there and hope for the best....Frank
