Hello,
When I try to open a secure hyperlink (https://.....) in MS Word
2003 or
MS Excel 2003 , it works - opens the browser(IE) prompts for userid/password
and displays the page .
But if the above is tried through MS Powerpoint 2003 , office throws "A
security Problem has occured " error and does not display the page in the
browser(IE).

I did try the Hot Fix patch (for Office 2002) - Adding
"EnableDialogInHLinkNav" in the Registry - with no sucess.
Appreciate if anyone could help me resolve this issue.

Thanks,

Sreekumar Kambath

Hello Sreekumar,

This sounds like the issue addressed by the post SP-1 hotfix documented in
the following KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;896595

The referenced hotfix is a "post" SP-1 hotfix. It wasn't included in SP-1,
but was released after SP-1 was released.

That means you'll need to call MS for the hotfix as the article describes.

Kind of silly that MS has had problems relating to this type of issue for
versions 2000 - 2003. Now I have to call them for a fix or wait until the
next SP update?

I dont think so. I will just use vba to open what I need.

Thanks for the reply :)
