http shortcut fails

Hi, using XP sp1 if I drag a web page to the desktop to create a
shortcut, when I click on the shortcut I get an error "Windows cannot
find the file "http//blah-blah...". The file opens but I get this error
message. This problem only happens when I set Mozilla Firefox as my
default browser, if IE is the default browser it doesn't happen. How do
I fix this problem when Mozilla is my default browser?

Why are you asking about a down level browser in an MS group. Ask AOL.

I have had the same issue, which in fact seems to be a windows error
so one could say you are justified in posting here. It is actually an
acknowledged firefox bug. If you search the web as apposed to the
groups (mostly ms newsgroup postings with no help) you will find more
info.
