HTTP Proxy Authentication

My desktop was purchased last week and came with
preinstalled windows xp professional. The desktop has
connected to my office Local Area Network.
The problem is while we are working with application or
other program the message given below pops up and hangs
the system.
"PLEASE ENTER PASSWORD FOR HTTP PROXY
Your HTTP proxy requires user authetication. Please enter
the appropriate user name and password.
Proxy Address:
User Name:
Password:
OK CANCELL"
Every time we have to clear the above message by clicking
ESC and click Alt+Esc keys to follow ups. Is there any
other ways to stop this message.
Thanks/Regards

I would do a search for some program that is trying to
make an internet connection. Some time ago a user
downloaded a casino program and then uninstalled it, even
thought it was uninstalled it left behind an INI file
that was trying to hit an FTP site in Russia. From the
sounds of it you may be running into the same issue. Good
luck it took me 2 weeks to search the ini files to find
the correct one.
