HTML mail displays grid

A user has just started having a grid displayed when creating an HTML
e-mail. It goes away when you switch from HTML to plain text and back to
HTML. It is displayed when sending the mail to other users. Any ideas
anyone? Have searched MS KB and Google to no avail.
