Hello,

does anybody know a utility to check a folder with html-files and
another folder with jpg-files and tell me, if there are files not linked
to the html-pages?

The folders are big and there are many files to check, if they are
necessary or not.

I've tried three link checker programs, but they only show broken links
from the htm-files ... (or they don't work)

TIA

Yes.

But: it does *not* check for image files.
(Or I didn't find the function...)
Just checked a site that I have stored locally, on the hard drive, and
Xenu found all orphan images in the directory "images" of the site.

Are the the directories you want to check a part of the site? Are they
linked from the site? If they are not, Xenu cannot check any files in them.

Greetings,
Demetris

CleanUpProperties Son Of Spy strikes again! This utility looks at your
web pages on your hard drive and checks all the .gifs and .jpgs used in
your pages. All graphic files that are in the directory but not used,
are moved to another direrctory for you. Nothing is deleted, but the
garbage is out of your way. This is just way too cool...(A usenet user
had this program and deleted it accidently, couldn't remember anything
about it, asked the newsgroup for help finding it...took twelve hours
searching but it was worth it!) Uploaded to my Geocities site.
