HTML Format changes with reply

I use the HTML setting in email. When I reply to a
message received in rich text or plain text, my format
automatically defaults to the format of the incoming mail.
How can I keep my HTML format?

You reply in the same format. Choose in the reply Format-> HTML to change
the format
