When I checked my start up in MSCONFIG there are 2 items of hpothb07.
Anybody know what these are & should they be in my start up?

Hi
You have been infected with spyware or virus, do a google search on
"hpothb07" and you will see many ways to remove these files and clean up
your registry.

Don't know why there are two. If it is an exe file it is most likely from
Hewlett Packard.

If you have never installed anything from Hewlett Packard then it may be
malware.

I do have an HP Laser printer & a digital camera. No malware shows up
when searched by AdAawre, Sprbot, Spysweeper or Norton AV.

You should be able to determine if the file is legitimate by browsing to the
file and hovering over it with the mouse. A balloon should pop up with the
version and company information for the file. I don't know if HP includes
this info but most companies do. If you are really concerned you could
always contact HP support.
