HP TMA Transparent Materials Adapter for ScanJet 4600 to scan 35mm slides or negatives

HP makes a TMA Transparent Materials Adapter option for ScanJet 4600 to scan
35mm slides or negatives. It comes as standard for other ScanJets.

I have a 4600 and am considering buying the TMA.

Does anyone know how well this works on slides & negatives?

thank you,

Harry

The 4600 spec says it is a 2400 DPI scanner, since flatbed scanners
practically produce results of about one half of the specified DPI, that
means you will not get great results with that combination for 35 mm film.
It may do well for 120 films.

It depends on how critical of the scans you are.
A flatbed scanner will never be as good as a dedicated film scanner.
