Hp Startup is a Window systems and is ... cannot be deleted. StartMenu

I have three entries on my Start menu for an HP printer. Two of them show HP
Startup, and have no submenus. When I try to deleve them, I get

Hp Startup is a Window systems and is a system folder and is require for
Windows to run properly. It cannot be deleted.

I'm looking at the properties for one. It points to
C:\Documents and Settings\administrator\Start Menu\Programs

I can see why it's not too happy about removing ...\Programs, but how do I
get rid of the menu item? It looks like it belongs to an old printer, and
not my current one. 5-6 years old.

it is unclear if the file
you have issues with
pertain to printers or
the system.

keep in mind, that hp
also makes computers
in addition to printers and
other low quality peripherals.

what you might want to
do is to consult the hp
website and look up your
computer and or printer
for faq's.

also, there may be a forum
just for hp users, so you might
try to join in and repost the
issue there.

in any case, if you are
determined to resolve this
issue on your own, make
a system restore point first.

then perhaps you can boot
up in safe mode and do your
file management in that mode.

if the program you are working
on, is just another bloated hp
software and really has nothing
to do with the windows o.s.,
then you might be justified by
removing it manually or via
a/r programs.

The two menu items are useless, as far as I can tell. Probably a result of
the HP printer software being un-installed properly. Not much about HP
surprises me. More likely I can bore down into the folder that keeps the
menu item, and just delete it.
