Does anyone know when Microsoft will have a fix for
Windows XP so that you can scan documents using an hp psc
750. I upgraded from 98 to XP in June/03 and have not
been able to use the scanner since. Getting impatient!

Thanks, Mel

1. Physically disconnect your PSC 750 from your computer.
2. Open your Control Panel and uninstall any HP printer software
listed in the Add or Remove Programs applet.
3. Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes, right-click
on any printer icons and select "delete".
4. Visit www.hp.com and download the latest Windows XP
compatible software/drivers for your specific printer model.
5. Install the software drivers per HP's instructions.
6. Reconnect your printer to your computer.

Bonus: HP PSC 700 series software/driver for Windows XP

Carey - thanks for responding. Two months ago HP sent me
a CD - hp psc 700 series which they said was more
complete than the online software download which I had
tried without success. I again tried to reload the CD as
per your instructions and have the same problems.
Firstly the scanner recognizes portions of a printed page
and other portions are a mystery. Also, any handwritten
notes are not recognized intelligently. When operating
under Windows 98 it was scanning/recognizing perfectly,
both print and handwritten text. If you can offer any
further help I could send you and example of the scanner
output if you can provide an e-mail address.

Regards, Mel
