Hi all

swapped my monitor (on an ATI RAEON 7000 video card) from a "HANSOL" which
XP recognised no problem to an HP Pavilion M70.

XP recognises this a "Plug and Play monitor". HP do not have any XP drivers
for it.

I run at 1280x1024, and get this "wobbly picture" at that res. Lower
resolutions are OK.

I figured the refresh rate needs tweaking. However (and here's the problem).

NOW right-clicking on desktop and going "Properties" only gives me the
"Appearance" tab. There are no other tabs !!!!!!! If I go via control panel,
and try "Change screen resolution", the "Advanced" tab there only gives me
the "Large Fonts" tab. All the other tabs (which are normally "Monitor" and
"Refresh Rate") are missing.

Anyone any ideas. Please ? The worst thing about it is the monitor worked
100% under Windows ME !!!!

thanks in advance

XP natively has Monitor definitions for the M70. Just update your
driver, but not automatically select. Uncheck "Show compatible
Hardware", select HP for vendor - then scroll through list M70 is
shown near the end of the listings.

Similar nuisance.... New Dell CPU, Windows XP and HP M50. Use to work great under w98SE. The Plug & Play driver is adquate. On Control Panel I have separate icon for my Graphics Driver, labeled "Intel Extreem Graphics". From there I had access to every adjustment available for display.

If you don't see the graphics icon then perhaps you need to install, or
re-install, the drivers for your graphics card. I'm no expert but I figured
giving my thoughts was better than none. Good Luck

Done this ... OK, the monitor is now listed as "Pavilion MX70" (the closest
match), but I still have lost my extra tabs in the right click "display
properties" menu ...

Thanks. Installed latest driver from ATI already - no change
