HP Officejeyt v45 printing problems

Have just bought a new Dell Dimension 2400, and attached
my officejet to it, which used to work fine with my oild
win98 system. It now only prints parts of documents, and
is intermittent. I've tried downloading a driver from
msoft website, and reinstalling the printer s/w, with
absolutely no luck AAARRGGHH! Can anyone help!
