HP OfficeJet 4315 all-in-one won't print from MS word

Hi,

I bought this printer last April down south and used it briefly to
send a fax. I have not attempted to use it till yesterday and found
that it would not print or copy, etc, except for web pages.

There is plenty of ink in cartridges. It goes
through the motion of printing as you hear it work. It pops out blank
pages as a finished product from MS word.

I have attempted to clean cartridges. I printed a web page but again,
it wont print a letter from word.

What is the problem and what can I do about it to make it work?

Simply put, if it is printing anything then at least that color is
working (Is the web page color or black and white?)

If it will not print from some applications but will print from others,
the problem isn't the ink delivery system, but problem with
configuration, likely caused by a bad installation of the driver software.

I would remove the drivers from the computer, then read the instruction
to make sure you follow the exact method of installation of the driver
set, and then follow that. If the "all in one" is supposed to be
unplugged to the computer until the drivers are loaded, make sure you do
so, or vice versa. Also, make sure you use the most current drivers for
your computer's operating system as indicated at the all in one unit's
manufacturer's website.

Art,

I d\l the vista version for my other computer and reinstalled the
printer. It still continues to output blank pages.

I contacted HP and they refuse to do anything, as they say warranty is
up. I used it for faxing some documents last April down south. I left
printer there and returned there recently for a week and brought
printer up north. It was never used for about 11 months.

Further to my posting, the problem was a defective black cartridge,
which apparently dried up.

Roger.
