HP LaserJet4ML software for Mac

E

Everett Ahrens

I acquired a HP LaserJet 4ML printer with no operation manual or software.
Does anyone have these items and if so, could I get a copy of them? I am
operating my printer with Gimp-Print and it is printing direct copy but I
am sure that there is more capability to the printer.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Everett Ahrens

HP Drivers for the LaserJet 4ML are available for download from:

I got one when they first came out.
Are you using it in Postscript mode? That's the main feature I bought
it for.
It runs PCL5 and PS level 2, detects itself.
On a Mac, try using it as a LaserWriter, though Macs may not let you
spoof them.

The only maintenance I did on it was to open it up and carefully yank
out jammed paper with a long pair of tweezers. That happened about
every 100 or so pages. Otherwise, no problems for 30,000 pages over 8
years.

There's some basic info at UPM: <http://www.nefec.org/UPM/>, tells you
what the lights mean at least.
