HP LaserJet 1300 and Epson Stylus Photo 825 Conflict

I have been using my Epson 825 USB printer without issue until I installed
an HP LaserJet 1300 USB printer. Now, when both printers are on, the Epson
Status Monitor cannot detect my ink levels nor does the Epson printer print
more than once...as if it cannot detect the printer afterwards. When it does
print the first time, it causes a page to be ejected on the HP.

If the HP is turned off, all is fine. I have reinstalled both printers and
the associated drivers, but that did not solve the issue. I have searched on
Epson's and HP's web sites, but have found no solutions.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I am surprised that this is the only problem you encounter. AIU, no
Windows OS takes kindly to having two USB printers connected (powered)
concurrently.
