I had this happen recently and it meant the fuser lamp was burned out. I
had it replaced with a brand new lamp and it worked perfectly. Shortly
thereafter, the IIIp developed another problem -- it would work for a couple
of minutes and then die, as if the power cord was unplugged. I asked my
repair person about this and he said it was probably a faulty power supply.
I have decided to replace the IIIp, so I am selling it on eBay. You might

There are three comman problems
1. the heat lamp is open
2. the traic is shorted or open, main AC input PCB
3. the heater safety PCB is defective, try replacing the electroloytic
caps, this board is the board under the fan in the AC input block.

also the thermo resistor could be bad, the PCB board on the end of the
fuser.

Good Luck
