HP Deskjet 697c blinking lights error: time to toss the printer ?

Hi all,
I have used my HP 697c color printer for 3+ years without any
problems .. but of late i have not been able to print anything. On a
print command, the paper is picked up and the top portion is fed in,
then the yellow light just keeps blinking. I have gone through the
entire list of troubleshooting exercises through the HP web site and
no success. Is this the EOL for the printer ?
