HP 960C printer and orange blinking light

Hello,

We have several HP Deskjet printers connected to a Sony VAIO notebook
under the WinXP Home operating system. It is connected with the USB
connection. One of the printers, an HP Deskjet 960C, has a problem
when a document is sent for printing: Once the print job is sent, the
printer's orange light will come on flashing. The user has to press
the RESUME button to continue. Sometimes when one page is done
printing, the orange light starts flashing again. Again, pressing
RESUME will eject the page and happily go on to the next page. This
seems to happen after every page. What might the problem be? Printer
malfunction or perhaps a driver or communications issue? This problem
happens regardless of what software is used to send a document to the
HP 960C.

Thanks,
Mike McWhinney
