HP 950 ALLINONE Fax Problem

For some time now, I am having an anomaly with my HP 950cse ALL-IN-ONE
when sending a FAX.

Every time, without fail, no matter who the recipient, when I try to
send a fax, I get a busy signal. I get an automatic re-dial sequence
of course, and almost always the second or third re-dial works.

At first I thought, the busy signal meant the recipient truly was
'busy', but after all these months, I am beginning to wonder. Have I
missed something in the HP950 set-up that could be causing this?

Thanks

if it was a problem with the dialing setup you'd think it would happen
every time.
Check to make sure when it dials that it waits for dial tone before
dialing... listen and count the tones and make sure it's not throwing
an extra one in there...
If you have it set to dial *70 to disable call waiting, make sure it is
*70 pause then the number

It does - or dang near it.

As you know, the redials occur automatically after some time lapse.
First re-dial is after 1 minute. Subsequent ones are after 5 minutes.
Most of the time, the first or less often the second work fine. This
means to me that the tones/phone# must be okay. But- I will try to
listen more closely to the tones themselves each time.
If you have it set to dial *70 to disable call waiting, make sure it is
*70 pause then the number

I never use call waiting on this phone.
