Hi Everyone,

On my WinXP Pro SP3 computer, I have installed a HP 932 printer , that
dosen't show in device manager . I've had the printer for several years, and
it always works well with my computer .
But the other day I realized that the printer dosen't have a entry in
device manager. Does anyone have any ideas on why the printer dosen't show
in device manager ?

Thanks !

Is this printer a "plug & play" model? Older non-plug & play
printers, which do not add their own printer port, will not show up in
Device Manager. These usally use the standard parallel ports or USB
ports. It is quite normal.

Because printers dont, they are an external device, connected to a port on
your PC, that port will be shown in DM
Your Printer will be shown in 'Printers & Faxes'

Not completely true. I have seen several "plug and play" aware
printers show up in Device Manager. These usually installed their own
printing system / ports.
