HP 930 Cartridge refilling

Given the extortionate cost of cartridges I resorted to refilling ~ with
some success.

However, recently the Black cartridge gave up completely. The pop up display
said the ONLY way is to fit a NEW cartridge.

I know some manufacturers use smart devices to render cartridges useless
when empty and it's necessary to buy a 'Cartridge Zapper' to get over this.
Is this the same with the HP51645 & HPC6578 cartridges?

Any tips on refilling will be appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, HP does not "chip" their cartridges, so there
is no need to "zap" them. Some of their printers do, however, remember
the last two cartridge ID's that were used. In this case, you can either
cycle two old empties in and out of the printer to make it forget the
third recently refilled cartridge ID. There are other methods where you
can tape the contacts to give a false ID, but you'd have to do a web
search for that technique.

If this one you have refilled quiet a few times it could be worn out head
wise, after all they where only designed to be used once

You can only refill a few times before you have to retire the cartridge.
P{rinters like HP uses nozzle head on the cartridge and they were
designed to be used once and then discarded or recycled.

AFAIK HP doesn't use any system that prevents refilling like Epson does.
So your cart is probably dead.

I have HP-45 carts that I've lost track of the times they've been refilled,
6-10 times is certainly not out of the question. I use only the ink, kit and
techniques found at www.inkjetsaver.com. Cleaning and filling through the
head is by far the best method. the only reason they will ever quit is
either air in the head or having run them dry.

If you treat them properly the cartridges will last a long time. I'm
averaging four to eight refills on the 45 and 78 cartridges depending on
cartridge capacity.
