Got my My aging HP 722C to work with win-xp just fine --
except it will not print in the "draft" quality mode.
Evbery time I try the printer's orange light blinks,
meaning there is an error. The page start to load, then --
bang! -- on comes the orange light.

Any suggestions? Ideas?

No. The problem is that there is no "latest printer driver from hp" for
the 722C. See http://tinyurl.com/2vxp6

I assume that the "the basic driver that is preloaded on Windows XP"
does not support "draft" quality printing. As hp says, "The
preinstalled Windows XP driver supports basic printing features." The
key word here is "basic."

This just worked for me printing from Internet Explorer. Dual proc PIII 550
with 384MB ram. The parallel port is configured for ECP in the computer
BIOS.
