HP 3550 Error Message

I have a HP3550 Printer which produces a file called HPOTDDxxx
containing an error message

20031231082932:002CFDB91:0008(HPOTDD01.EXE)## FillFileList failed!
20031231082935:00305F67C:0008(HPOTDD01.EXE)## FillFileList failed!


This file is created in the Temp directory and is not deleted. After a
few days Temp is full of theses files.

Does anyone know what causes this error. It does not appear to cause a
problem except trying to delete the files.

For information I have the HP3420 driver also loaded ( loaded first)
as I originally had that printer but it died and I obtained a
replacement. The dirver is still there in case the replacement needs
to be attached.
