HP 2100

Rob

Hi,

I got a HP 2100 laserjet printer.
I also got a problem with the drivers.

HP2100 isn't sold anymore by HP.
I am using windows 98se

I go it running on the pcl 5e driver from HP
But very often the driver goes wrong and I get all kind of garbage on the
paper.

hp pcl 6e driver does not install teh computer hangs on install.

------------------------------

Where can I gat a better driver or how do I solve this problem.

I did hear of a postscript driver ?
Is that perhaps a solution ?

Thanks in advance
Rob

You can download the most recent drivers from:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...eriesId=25469&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=20

Also check you printer cable and make sure it is properly seated on both
ends. You should be using an IEEE-1284 compliant cable, it should say
IEEE-1284 along the cable. Check the BIOS for your parallel port, it
should be set to ECP.

Thanks,

Cable is old and doesn't have the inscription IEEE-1284.
I think it is a bidirectional cable but not sure will try to get another
cable for testing.

The Postscript driver requires a Postscript personality module. This
was included in the 2100M version and available as an add-on, but is
probably not in your printer.
