How turn OFF page-edge border in booklet printing

I want to print booklets. Word puts two pages on each side of a sheet of
paper. However, it also puts thin line borders on the sheet representing the
edge of the pages if they had been printed full size. How do I remove these
page-edge borders on any reduced/scaled down printing?

This is not normal, though it has been reported by a number of users. I
can't find anything about it in Microsoft's Knowledge Base, and AFAIK no one
has determined the cause, but you might try using a different printer driver
or changing your print setup in some other way (such as disabling background
printing or spooling). Also make sure that there is no setting in your
printer Properties that might be causing this.

There are 90 degree angles on all 4 of my corners. I want them gone but do
not know how to get rid of them.

I cant find the write message space so i am using this one even though the
subject is different.
I used to format horizontal bars in my TOC.
Now i no longer have that format object on my toolbar as i did before. I
could make a line and make it black. It dissappeared due to my unchecking
something, i dont remember what.
Also, my asterisks are turning into periods when sent to someone in a doc.
