Something has changed in the view of my Microsoft OUtlook Email ... now when
I click on the message subject, the message only appears on the right side of
the screen and I have to adjust settings to read it. The messages used to
appear on the full screen when I double clicked the suject line. As a
creature of habit, I'd like to have this view again. Please help!!

So you used to double-click to open the message, but now you single-click and
you get the message in the Reading Pane?

What happens if you double-click the message now? Does it still open in its
own window?

(Also please tell us your Outlook version.)

Thanks for your help. Yes, double clicking does help! Also, how do I find
the version of my Outlook? And yes, I am blonde!!

I'm blonde too, that's no excuse ;o)

So I'm guessing you just want rid of the message on the right side of the
screen, right?

The option will either be View > Reading Pane (for Outlook 2003) or View >
Reading Pane > Off (for Outlook 2007). I don't think you could have any
other version, because before 2003 the preview pane was always at the bottom!

But just in case you ever need to know, Outlook usually displays its version
number in a splash screen when it starts, or you can get more detailed
version information from Help > About Microsoft Office Outlook.

Thanks again, TechieBird! I have Outlook 2003 and now I've cancelled the
pane on the right! You've been a big help and now I know how to get computer
help from experts like you!
