How to use ad hoc mode

Ok, so both my Windows XP computers are conected wirelessly (ad hoc) and work
just fine. How do I actually send and view files through it? there's no
option to send the file to the other computer (which seems logical in ad hoc
mode to me; right click and "Send to...PC2"). Why aren't they both viewing
eachother as a new connected device or hardrive under My Computer?

What do I do to even get them to communicate. Am I supposed to use a program
on both pc's such as a ftp program? At the moment, all that happens (after
recognising the network and then having connected to it) the icon just sits
there, I just can't seem to access anything from the other computer (either
way I try; pc1 to pc2 or pc2 to pc1)

Please someone help me, There is nothing available on this and the product
manufacturers say it's not there concern as the wireless adapters work fine.

Because they're connected via a local area network, just like they
would be if you had a wired Ethernet network.

If you want to see a drive under My Computer, map a network drive.

What icon do you see that "just sits there"? What do you think it
should do instead?

Right-click and share the desired disks and folders on each computer.
View the other computer's shared disks and folders in My Network
Places. You can also access the other computer's shared disks and
folders by typing the computer's name in the Start | Run box in this
format:

\\computer

Any web page that has Ethernet networking information will also apply
to your ad-hoc wireless network.
