Tried to fix a Windows Problem by restoring to a point two
weeks ago. Basically went into XP Control Panel and
picked a date of two weeks ago.

Now the machine is stuck on start-up and is frozen with a
blank desktop. Machine has been like this for 15 minutes
and the hard drive light is flickering intermittent. I
keep hoping the desktop icons will pop-up and I'll be
saling again but it looks like it is locked up.

How can I reverse my request for a previous restore point.

I have powered off and rebooted several times but it will
not boot up.

Help.

Thanks in advance

Can you boot in safe mode? If so start System Restore and choose
"Undo my last restore operation"

Finishing a restoration, after boot sometimes *does* take a long time,
though 15 minutes sounds OTT. But go away and give it plenty. If still
no joy

Boot with F8 as BIOS info goes to black, for the menu, take
Safe Mode - Command Prompt

If that boots give
c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
which will bring up restore's usual GUI and you can use the 'unwind'
option
