How to turn on the GSM?

Is it somehow possible to turn on the GSM (phone) module from code on a PPC
with phone? If so, how?

Turn it on? What exactly do you mean? Change it from flight mode to normal
mode? Dial a call?

Yes, you could say I want to change it from flight mode to normal mode,
except that I don't care about wifi and bluetooth. It is only the GSM I want
to turn on. Basically, I want to do the same as when you press the little
connection icon in the lower right corner of Windows CE and then choose to
turn on the GSM (if it is turned off).

That's not a documented interface, as far as I know. In the past, some
people have found how to do it for certain devices. That's the best you can
do. I've seen this document referenced for HTC devices:
