how to turn off overstike mode on keyboard

My keyboard keeps going into overstike mode. How do I turn this off and what
am I doing that causes this to happen. It just seems to come from nowhere:)
 
Press the Insert key, which is what you did in the first place (it's a
toggle). It's all too easy to miss Backspace or Delete and hit Insert
instead.
