How to turn off "completed tasks" in outlook?

I do not want them listed in my "task list" Basically I want to just
see
my active tasks not completed tasks as well. right now it also lists
completed tasks with a bar (line on them). Selecting just "active
tasks"
from the customize view does not show me only my active tasks. Instead
it is showing all my tasks including completed one with a bar.

When you finish a task, delete it and it will never appear again.
 
I do not want to delete them either!
It was not the case in earlier version (prior to outlook 2003).
 
Add a filter to your preferred view of the Tasks folder that hides completed
items. Go to View | Arrange By | Current View | Customize Current View,
click the Filter button, and add the filter there. (You may need to do it
from the Advanced tab -- use "Completed equals no").
