How to turn off auto-disconnect?

When I dial a ppp vpn, exiting many of my programs
produces this popup question:

Dial Up Networking
Do you want to hang up the Dial-Up connection?
Yes No

The answer is always No. I don't want to be bothered with
this question.

How do I disable this? (I am using Win2K Professional.)

Never mind, sorry; this seems to be application specific,
not something Windows is doing.
