Hello

my explorer in Win2K sometimes crashes when previewing multimedia files.
Pictures work well and I like this feature but I don't need it for
multimedia files like audio and video - and I not only don't need it, I
need it to be turned of because of the crashes.

Google and MS Knowledge Base did not offer anything except Google is
full of "I have this error" but no useable answer to it.

I had a graphics program installed that by accident deactivated my JPG
Preview (I reactivated it with a .reg file found on the net but I did
not get behind the file so I don't know how to reverse the effect - to
deactivate preview for certain extensions), so I think it is possible to
change the Registry that certain extensions are not previewed anymore.

How can I change my registry so that .avi, .wav and .mp3 are no longer
previewed but .jpg, .gif and so on still have their cute small preview
pic in the left side of the explorer window?

In Explorer, got to "View>>Customize this folder", click 'next' then 'next'
again and choose 'Image Preview' in the "choose a template" selection,

Rob
