I'm looking to remove all problems that regularly occur in the event viewer
section of the admin tools. But, for instance, how do I get further
information to remove problems such as the following:

"Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000
Date: 23/11/2003
Time: 01:05:14
User: ********************
Computer: **************************
Description:
The BtTuner, WDM TV Tuner service failed to start due to the following
error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it
has no enabled devices associated with it."

when I know that I uninstalled the BtTuner drivers, the device and there are
no services under Services called anything like WDM TV Tuner or BtTuner!?
What are the steps you guys use to rid the system of erratic errors like
this? Reinstall windows? Registry edits? Some other form of automated
maintenance?

Comments please.

The services are listed in the Registry (regedit.exe), under this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\

never edit the registry, and always back it up when you do.

There are also 3rd party tools like this one:
