How to track when users log into a system on a domain

Is there a way to track when domain users log into a
system on the domain? Basically I would like to know when
joeuser logs into wrks-01.

Configure the Audit policy - it starts the Security events logging, or use
'psloggedon.exe' from www.sysinternals.com.

Auditing logons is one way, then it will appear in the security event
log.
