anyone know how to tell if my computer is pro or home? when my computer
starts and little bar comes out, at the below of Windows XP, theres nothing.
my old computer used to say Professional, and my laptop says Home with a
green bar.
current PC appears blue bar.

Go to run,type:WinVer

Obviously your old computers do not have the latest Service Pack.
Unless you have a good reason not to, you should install Service Pack
2.
That screen was standardized among all the versions of Windows XP.

Right click My Computer and click Properties and you will see what
version is installed.
