Go to the System applet in Control Panel and double-click it to open.
Look on the General tab. Under the name of the operating system ("XP
Home" for instance) will be listed what Service Pack you have. If
nothing is listed, you have no Service Packs installed.

From your desktop, right click MY Computer, then from that drop down menu,
click Properties. When that page loads, you will see your computer info, ie
service pack#, if you have either SP1 or SP2, and as the other poster
stated, if you have SP2, then you have SP1 as SP 2 contains, not just recent
updates, but everything that was included in SP1.

Start | Run | Type: winver | Click OK |
If you have Service Pack 1 it will say so.
