How to talk to a host

B

Bob P

I've been having on-going problems with a form on my site at
http://www.westlakeresidence.com/info.htm created with FP2000. I got the
[FrontPage Save Results Component] showing as well as the form itself.
Conversations with the host have gone no where as they insist the extensions
are installed and have email form enabled (Did I say that right?) When I
fill in the form, I'm taken to a page that says it can't run the Front Page
extensions. My host is making me think it's something I've done wrong. Is
it?

How did you upload or publish the page to the site? It is important to
always use the FP publishing facitilites when using FP components, such as
form handlers.

If you type in your browser address bar:

www.westlakeresidence.com/_vti_inf.html

it will tell you if the extensions are installed...won't tell ya if they're
working though...if you get a page not found that usually means that the
extensions are not installed.

Yes?
You're fired!

Thinking that may have been the case, I went to the cpanel and uninstalled
and reinstalled the extensions myself some time ago. The process caused my
site to be erased, so a day later I re-published and have the same results.
At least I know, through my own intervention, the extensions are there. I
guess I have to assume that they're broken or something, huh?

It shouldn't erase your site, it may mess up navigation if you're using FP
navigation stuff...but the site should still be there.
