how to syncheonize outlook contacts to htc hd2 phone

got a new phone the HTC HD2 and don't know how to sync my contacts to it.
 
Activsync is not working properly.

htc hd2 is taking contacts from the phone and placing them into my web
accessed account... but not the reverse.. If I update an account on
the computer, it is not saving.

Furthermore-- Having difficulty syncing people with multiple numbers.
HTC HD2 is only taking one of the numbers and ignoring the other. If I
update the information on the phone and then sync... it still deletes
the second number off the phone!! o_O

Please help with both problems.
