How to sync OL2003 Desktop with notebook.

Howard Sartori

When I go on travel and start up the Notebook, how can Sync the Desktop
Outlook PST with the Notebook PST file without doing an import? Or is
import the only way to do it?
Thanks. /Howard

Better is to copy the pst-file from your desktop to your laptop

To access that pst-file on your laptop;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

To set it as the default delivery location;
Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> use the dropdownlist below

Is this really the best option?

With my PST files on a different drive from my software, I would not
want to run the risk of rules falling over because folders are not
where they should be.

Unlike the original poster, I am really more interested in finding
decent software that does this job.

SynchPST seems to be half way there.

Is anyone familiar with alternatives?

Well this is the supported way by Microsoft.

Syncpst looks like a good and easy tool. Note that opening a pst-file from a
networkshare works for most people but is unsupported by Microsoft.

For a list of other thrid party tools;

Thanks for that. I'm familiar with Slipstick. I see it as my Outlook
bible.

The other one was new to me.

I have just acquired LapLink at a very low price. I might give that a
whirl on the PST copying front.

By the way, I also tried something called OsaSynch. Awful. Lots of
cryptic error messages that take you to a page with so many errors and
options that you wonder what the author was thinking about.
