How to switch XP menus from Japanese to English?

A friend's visa expired and he had to return to Japan. He sold me his laptop
which runs XP Professional, but all the menus and system messages are in
Japanese. Is there a language setting where I can switch XP to display in
English? He only charged me $30 ... a very nice guy.

No, The language of Windows XP can not be changed to English.
If you want Windows XP in English, you need to buy Windows XP in English.

You seem to have got a good deal on the laptop, it may be necessary to Buy
Windows XP or other OS in the version and language you need.

User Interface of Windows XP. You'll need to
purchase a "Full English Version" of Windows XP and
perform a "Clean Install".
