HELP! I'm typing a manuscript in Word XP and I can't seem to figure out how
to supress the header on the first page (keeping the header on all the
following pages). I used to know how to do it in earlier versions of MS
Word, but I can't find the solution in Word XP.
Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide!

There really isn't a "suppress" feature. Word allows you to have one header
for the first page and a different header for following pagesy.

Go to File, Page Setup, Layout and make sure that "Different first page" is
clicked on. Now, if you click into the header on the first page, or go to
View, Header, your header will be labeled "First Page Header"; if you go to
subsequent pages and view the header, it will be labeled "Header." Set up
your "Header" the way you want it and leave the "First Page Header" empty.
