How to suppress warning message.

I have Windows XP on both my main and notebook computer. The main computer is
an upgrade installation. Whenever I run a legacy DOS program on the main
computer I get this message. "(path\\filename.pif) An application has
attempted to directly access the hard disk, which cannot be supported. This
may cause the application to function incorrectly. Choose'Close' to terminate
the application. Close Ignore"
Wnen I choose 'Ignore', the program launches and runs with no problem.
However, when I run the same DOS program on the notebook, there is no
warning message. How can I suppress the warning on the main computer?
